    https://www.stuff.co.nz/business/113031902/50-rent-rise-for-heat-pump-pushed-me-into-sex-work

These stories annoy me and thankfully with the media still in awe to Ardern we dont get them nearly as often but it doesnt detail her accommodation supplement or any other assistance she receives.
Sure life will be pretty tough on the sickness benefit but if you are too sick to get a job how come you can be a prostitute ? No explanation there except she is quite able to do the work but struggles with the moral side of things.
If the government keep piling on costs to landlords, keeps making it tough for people to be landlords and is generally hostile to landlords then supply will shrink and rents will rise. This has not been offset by Twyford doing his bit and increasing housing supply by 10,000 a year which would have mitigated the governments other effects.
I have a $6400 bill for upgrading the insulation in one house, it was already insulated but at 70mm all the batts came out and new ones installed to 100mm (the underfloor was done too).

There isnt one for landlords only for homeowners with community services card. Dont see why the taxpayers should chip in to make my properties better, spend it hip replacements or cataracts.

The story is bullshite on many levels .
Heat pump $2000 or so installed. As well the landlord gets too right off the expense against tax and claim GST back.
If the landlord is charging an extra 50 pw week it is fully paid for in less than a year.A Heat pump should be good for ten or more years of service.

          New headline….
Landlord rises rent blamed it on providing heatpump rather than admit greed .

I can never understand how people run up these huge bills. The tenant is under no obligation to use the heatpump. I dislike them, I don’t like having heat blasting down on my head.

My new heater uses 800 watts so efficiently that I can’t believe that it’s only 800 watts; it’s a Goldair radiant one. I have a 2400 watt one in the sittingroom but seldom have all three bars on because the heater is so well designed that it makes an astonishing amount of heat only with one bar. The three Goldair radiant ones I have were invesments. (They were all Briscoes specials and paid for themselves very quickly indeed)

There is no GST on residential rates so they cant claim, also the heat pump will be depreciated over 7 or so years. Installation is fully deductible.

The leader of the opposition continues the Maori stereotype, Bridges deals with stolen documents and is proud of it

Accusing someone of theft is a very serious thing. I wouldn’t do it without evidence and would be very careful where I said it for fear of being accused of libel or slander.

I don’t assume that having Maori ancestry makes someone a thief or receiver of stolen goods.

You weren’t so self-righteous when HIS details were hacked/leaked.

If they were sent to National by accident. that’s not theft.

Of course, if someone had sent National’s budget to Labour, they would do nothing about it…yeah, right.

He must be wishing that he hadn’t said anything. It was only an idea, as far as I could see and was then leaped on and made to sound like a fait accompli.

Heres a couple of points from Q-time: (paraphrased)

    1) Judith attacking Twyford over kiwibuild.. to which he replied that whilst they had not reached the proposed target.. at least they are trying to build AFFORDABLE houses for kiwi families
This was followed up by Winston asking whether the current build figures, had topped the number built by Natl in 9 looong years. Twyford replied “YES”

    2) Nikki Kaye quizzing Hipkins, over the figures, for Teachers salary increases.. supposedly $10k !!!. He stated that some will get about $9.5k others will get $11k. Kaye then started saying he had ‘misled the public’ because some are getting a bit less & other are getting a bit more.. over 2 years.

**It was then revealed that this is more than Natl gave Teachers… over 9 loooong years !

You could almost see the smoke coming from Nikki Kaye’s ears 😀
