This post is open to anyone to comment on any topic that isn’t spam, illegal or offensive. All Your NZ posts are open but this one is for you to raise topics that interest you, or you think may interest others..

If providing opinions on or summaries of other information also provide a link to that information. Bloggers are welcome to summarise and link to their posts. Comments worth more exposure may be repeated as posts. Comments from other forums can be repeated here, cut and paste is fine.

Your NZ is a mostly political and social issues blog but not limited to that, and views from anywhere on the political spectrum are welcome. Some ground rules:

  • If possible support arguments, news, points or opinions with links to sources and facts.
  • Please don’t post anything illegal, potentially defamatory or abusive.

FIRST TIME COMMENTERS: Due to abuse by a few, first comments under any ID will park in moderation until released (as soon as possible but it can sometimes take a while).

Sometimes comments will go into moderation or spam automatically due to mistyped ID, too many links (>4), or trigger text or other at risk criteria. If they pass muster they will be released as soon as possible (it can sometimes take hours).

Gutless, rude and ignorant…’the US and UK’ defeated the Nazis, note this order when common courtesy as well as accuracy would put the UK first. They and their 3,000,000 armed forces personnel (out of a population of 46,000,000) were fighting for FOUR YEARS before the US sauntered into Europe in 1943. The US had 2,000,000 troops out of 140,000,000 people.

      Ignorant, arrogant bugger.

and oh by the way. I was born into a life of priviledge. Mummy and daddy sent me away to windsor during the blitz. I even helped change a wheel on one of those truck thingies. One of my major joys was to get dirt under my nails and display these signs of labour to my friends

While I can not stand the royal family your comment is way out of line .

Elizabeth would have served her time treated as any other woman in the auxiliary servce was. QWII insisted Prince Andrew be allowed to remain on active duty with a war ship rather than be placed in a safe desk job during the Falklands war.
The Royal family has a record of actually fronting up and doing the job in the forces unlike bone spurs who was a draft dodger and has boasted about it .

Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex Afghanistan two tours first tour armored reconnaissance troop leader forward air support second tour co-pilot/gunner Apache gunship.
Prince Andrew, Duke of York Commander Falklands War Royal Navy’s Fleet Air Arm Sea King helicopter co-pilot, anti-surface warfare, Exocet missile decoy, and casualty evacuation.

They do not give royalty a chopper job in an active war zone so they can hide behind it.

I am no royalist, either, but credit where it’s due; Princess Elizabeth did the same work as everyone else where she was.

Her selfish mother, on the other hand, swanned around all dressed up in the clothes that someone with 26 times the number of clothing coupons could have, bleating that now she could look the East End in the face when Buckingham Palace was slightly damaged by a bomb. She didn’t, of course, ask the homeless East Enders to come and stay in the Palace or in any of her other houses and used the excuse that her vast wardrobe was good for the morale of those who were all but in rags…
