This post is open to anyone to comment on any topic that isn’t spam, illegal or offensive. All Your NZ posts are open but this one is for you to raise topics that interest you, or you think may interest others..

If providing opinions on or summaries of other information also provide a link to that information. Bloggers are welcome to summarise and link to their posts. Comments worth more exposure may be repeated as posts. Comments from other forums can be repeated here, cut and paste is fine.

Your NZ is a mostly political and social issues blog but not limited to that, and views from anywhere on the political spectrum are welcome. Some ground rules:

  • If possible support arguments, news, points or opinions with links to sources and facts.
  • Please don’t post anything illegal, potentially defamatory or abusive.

FIRST TIME COMMENTERS: Due to abuse by a few, first comments under any ID will park in moderation until released (as soon as possible but it can sometimes take a while).

Sometimes comments will go into moderation or spam automatically due to mistyped ID, too many links (>4), or trigger text or other at risk criteria. If they pass muster they will be released as soon as possible (it can sometimes take hours).

Irony Alert: NZ King Salmon want to shift to a better location and the usual NIMBYs are doing their usual end of the world scares and the politicians are as usual far too cautious to actually make a decision so Ardern is confronted over it, politely, and her answer:

“Ardern suggested Rosewarne was “dressing up” the company’s relocation proposal as a climate change issue, ”

Is there anything from a politician, a taxpayer funded study or anything from the state that isnt dressed up as climate change issue. Oh and lets just arbitrarily end the oil and gas industry because I said so.

I wouldn’t expect Sir John to be there, he’s not the PM now.

The current PM should go, not a previous one. She must have better things to do than honouring the sacrifices made by the men who died for the freedom of Europe.

New Plymouth wants to have a sister city relationship with Austin, Texas!!!. Why would Austin want a relationship with what they’d probably consider an ‘industrial park.’?

As a matter of fact you are right…that’s what the befuddled halfwit would say. That’s why he had the good sense not to stand for mayor after 2016. Best to leave on your own terms..rather than have your departure forced upon you.

Is it a serious campaign or just the owner of some company trying to be funny and/.or get free publicity for himself and it ?

I hope that the people of Austin are not so stupid that they can’t tell the difference between a largish city and an industrial park.

what a recidivist record…’ANZ is not a stranger to regulator action. In the past decade it has entered two settlements with the Commerce Commission, one with the Inland Revenue, and one with the Financial Markets Authority,’

‘”The powers of financial capitalism had another far-reaching aim, nothing less than to create a world system of financial control in private hands able to dominate the political system of each country and the economy of the world as a whole. This system was to be controlled in a feudalist fashion by the central banks of the world acting in concert, by secret agreements arrived at in frequent meetings and conferences. The apex of the systems was to be the Bank for International Settlements in Basel, Switzerland, a private bank owned and controlled by the world’s central banks which were themselves private corporations. Each central bank…sought to dominate its government by its ability to control Treasury loans, to manipulate foreign exchanges, to influence the level of economic activity in the country, and to influence cooperative politicians by subsequent economic rewards in the business world.” ~ Carroll Quigley, Tragedy & Hope

Canadians don’t sound like Americans to anyone with any kind of ear for accents and they don’t speak nasally.

It’s not the same thing at all. Canada and the US are different countries, have different governments and different accents. If you’d been there, you’d know this.
