/ 10th June 2019Much is being made by a few about Ardern not attending ‘this years’ D day commemorations
Mike Hosking: Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern’s snub of D-Day events is insulting
Lo and behold what do we find at the last big D Day shindig, the 70th , in 2014,where Obama and ‘everyone turned up’
No KEY at 70th
The Governor General was representing NZ in this group photo with lots of other PMs
Alan Wilkinson
/ 10th June 2019The Gov was a military man so quite appropriate for him to attend.
Duker
/ 10th June 2019No . Key didnt go so Mateparae went instead . Notice all the other non military people there except for one Admiral !
isnt that Merkel in the 2nd row ?
Soper was going on about this as well, he pointed out Clark went for the 60th , 15 years ago , still fluffing the pillows for Key , as he ignored who ‘went’ 5 years ago.
The real point is D day is inconsequential for NZ involvement. Our army was bogged down in Italy at the time and those events make more sense for US.
The 75th anniversay of VE Day – in Berlin? will be interesting

/ 10th June 2019I notice in the back row …is that General Cameron? And middle row behind Queen and Hollande , surely its Air Marshall Harper

/ 10th June 2019Very old news from 2012.
The PM can’t attend every overseas military funeral, be reasonable.
Duker
/ 10th June 2019Buried in NZ but killed overseas in service of their country.
Key was doing other things – watching his son play basketball in one of those cash to play tournaments
Kitty Catkin
/ 10th June 2019People who join the army know that there is a chance that they will be killed.
The country pays to bring the bodies back and that is very expensive.
How many other leaders attend every military funeral ?
Kitty Catkin
/ 10th June 2019He attended three other funerals.
It was a baseball tournament and his son was representing NZ; I don’t know where the cash to play thing came from.
These were not state funerals.

/ 10th June 2019Those sort of ultra minority sports operate like that
Steven Adams said his parents had no money meant he wasn’t selected ‘to play for NZ’ for an youth team
Same goes for softball/baseball , Key just writes a cheque for $15k and it’s done and young rich pricks get a line on their CV….clearly MaX had no real sporting talent before or since
Kitty Catkin
/ 10th June 2019‘Snub’ (frequently used wrongly) is a tired cliche now, like ‘slam’.
Duker
/ 10th June 2019Hosking virtue signalling by going after Ardern . A moron and a nasty &%$#
