  1. Simplistic nonsense. What is responsible content? What is offensive content? Goose stepping neo-nazis maybe easy to ban, but what about the individual who argues Israel treats Palestine in a disgraceful and abhorrent fashion? Anti-semitism. Some say yes.

Baron-Cohen asking is for Zuckerberg to impose Cohen-barons political and cultural views on the planet. No thanks.

Maybe. But Zuckerberg’s a billionaire with as many faces & dodges & glib answers as to make his arguments for anything suspect. He’s been exploiting gullible & innocent people using his internet tools ruthlessly for about a decade. Power & $$$ has corrupted him.

      • Yup.

The tech giants like Facebook and Google are so dominant that people all around the world pretty much have to submit to them to express themselves freely, to access information online, and to engage in society.

But as a default Google stores search history across all of an individual’s devices, information on every app and extension they use, and all of their YouTube history, & Facebook collects data about people even if they don’t have a Facebook account.

Then there’s the use of all the home help like Google’s Assistant and Facebook’s Portal, and smart home systems connecting devices refrigerators, TVs, and heating systems. And then there are the public spaces with all the ‘smart city’ infrastructure and trackers.

The extent of their surveillance and the ways that they use data to infer detailed characteristics about people, mean that Google and Facebook are defining our identity to the outside world… and controlling what we see and how we make sense of the outside world. And both companies have a history of abusing people’s privacy. So we either stop enjoying the benefits of the digital world, or we roll over and submit to the surveillance that enables our data to be weaponized against us

    SBC-
“The algorithms these platforms depend on deliberately amplify the type of content that keeps users engaged – stories that appeal to our baser instincts and that trigger outrage and fear. It’s why YouTube recommended videos by the conspiracist Alex Jones billions of times. It’s why fake news outperforms real news, because studies show that lies spread faster than truth. And it’s no surprise that the greatest propaganda machine in history has spread the oldest conspiracy theory in history – the lie that Jews are somehow dangerous. As one headline put it, “Just Think What Goebbels Could Have Done with Facebook.”
Obviously as a jew talking to the ADL Anti Defamation League hes going to highlight anti semitism

Yes, as a jew talking to the ADL Anti Defamation League he’s going to highlight anti semitism.
It would have been a bit of surprise if he’d said that every Jew is dangerous, every Jew wants to take over the planet and every Jew should be put down. A surprise because he knows such sentiments are already out there on Zuckerberg’s platform.
