Some media (RNZ, Stuff, NZ Herald), are reporting this is breaking news again, which is pathetic misuse of the term that makes it meaningless.
It’s not as if there’s a surprise that the daily numbers will be released at 1 pm, that’s what has been happening for months.
The only things that have increased are the number of negative tests, and the pressure on Government to relax restrictions on businesses and large gatherings (sports are wanting to get back into action in front of crowds).
If there is little or no change through to Monday then Cabinet will have to announce a move to level 1 on Wednesday. Jacinda Ardern was under pressure through this week (and showing it) for not having done it sooner.
