Trump worse than usual versus Martin Gugino

One thing that Donald Trump manages to keep doing is defy claims that nothing he can do can shock any more.

The US President has handled the Covid-19 pandemic poorly, and he has been even worse dealing with the death of George Floyd and the resulting demonstrations and riots.

But he has sunk to a new conspiracy theory blame diverting low, via Twitter of course.

That’s just nuts, even by Trump’s standards.

It was referring to this widely shown pushing of a protester by police:

Even Fox are critical: Trump takes heat for suggesting man shoved by Buffalo police may be ‘ANTIFA provocateur’

President Trump on Tuesday questioned the motives of the elderly protester who was shoved by Buffalo police officers last week and hospitalized after he hit his head in the resulting fall — drawing severe backlash from both sides of the aisle.

Officers Robert McCabe and Aaron Torgalski pleaded not guilty to second-degree assault after they were caught on camera shoving Martin Gugino, who is 75, to the ground during protests in the city over the death of George Floyd. The officers have been suspended without pay and an internal affairs investigation was launched into the men. District Attorney John Flynn said the officers “crossed a line.”

The backlash to Trump’s tweet was swift, including from Gugino’s lawyer, Kelly Zarcone, who slammed the president in a statement to Fox News.

“Martin is out of ICU but still hospitalized and truly needs to rest,” she said. “Martin has always been a PEACEFUL protestor because he cares about today’s society. He is also a typical Western New Yorker who loves his family. No one from law enforcement has even suggested anything otherwise so we are at a loss to understand why the President of the United States would make such dark, dangerous, and untrue accusations against him.”

Media personalities on the left and right also ripped Trump’s post.

“My God this is a bad tweet,” Chuck Ross of the Daily Caller posted. “There’s no evidence to support this and the guy looked like he fell as hard as he was pushed.”

Conservative radio host Erick Erickson simply tweeted “[p]lease stop.” Kassy Dillon, a former personality at the right-leaning Daily Wire and founder of Lone Conservative, a group for conservative college students, said, “I’m just going to go back to bed.”

CNN White House correspondent John Harwood chimed in, saying that Trump is “repeating OANN kookery presented by a person who has also worked for Kremlin propaganda outlet, is disconnected from reality, humanity and common sense.”

The OANN report Trump apparently was citing was based on a post from the site Conservative Treehouse saying that Gugino was an activist, which is true. But the report does not actually provide evidence that Gugino is associated with Antifa. Further, it claims, without evidence, that Gugino was attempting to use a “police tracker” on his phone to scan police communications and apparently black them out.

Zarcone said Tuesday that Gugino had his cell phone in his hand in the video, and that “[t]here was no black out equipment or attempt or anything like that.”

After an initial improvement in approval ratings after Covid struck Trump is tanking in polls.

  1. Yup, this 75 year old protestor staged his fall to injure himself. Just like Mexico is going to pay forthe wall, ingesting disinfectant and injecting UV light will fight off the Coronavirus and North Korea is no longer a nuclear threat. And many of the trumpagandists just lap this stuff up.

The Republicans aren’t even bothering to try to defend Trump’s tweet about Gugino, because there is no defence. It’s just a vile gutless accusation made by a vile gutless man.

  2. This vileness from trump came only minutes after far-right fake news outlet OAN broadcast the same claim.

The OAN correspondent who narrated the segment, Kristian Rouz, is a Russian native who has also worked for Sputnik, a Kremlin-controlled news outlet.

    Draw your own conclusions.

    All in a day’s work…

“President Donald Trump on Friday sent exactly 200 tweets and retweets — the most so far during his presidency — amid ongoing nationwide protests about police brutality and not long after he issued an executive order to regulate the social network after it fact-checked his posts.

According to Factba.se, which tracks the president’s usage of Twitter, the volume of the president’s tweets Friday was the highest it had ever been — both before and during his presidency. The president had sent 468 tweets as of Friday night for the week — the most ever in one week during his presidency, according to Factba.se.

He also tweeted 74 times between 8 and 9 a.m. Friday, which marked the all-time highest volume of tweets from the president in a single hour. “

    What was Martin Gugino scanning/recording?

Here’s a slow-downed clip of the encounter which shows him waving a device (?phone) around the mid-riff region of 2 cops.

It’s a bomb, an explosive device or somesuch. Think of a chemically sort of a name that the President can use and McIninny can use at a presser.

“Tests have shown the presence of anthracycline and sillimanite in the rioter. Police had every reason to fear for their safety. Fortunately the officers lived to go home that night to their 3 year old paraplegic daughter in one case, and in the other his daughter’s first birthday celebration. Next please, over the back…”

I have one of these. They are much harder to come by now.

Technology may have moved on to allow smart phones to jam or scan or record…I don’t know.

Regardless, the fact is, this old nut engaged and pointed his phone at the officers.

He was lucky he didn’t receive the baton.

He is lucky that it didn’t get a knee to the neck for nine minutes, but that seems to be reserved for non whites.

Phones have cameras, police radios are digital frequency hopping
Those store bought things need technical expertise/hack to even be able to gain acess to restricted police frequencies and might only work for low level police work , say used by those on parking ticket duty ( many US citys employ low level police for parking/traffic control/ security guard style work and they are paid low rates

If it was a jammer – it wasnt- they could have grabbed it from his hand. You can go to jail for using one
The reason for the assault was what he said, I can see the cop behind with the gold badge , he seems to be in charge and might have instructed the cop who struck him

I am sure that he was showing it to them and asking them something. They are looking at it. Follow the eyeline.

He was pushed with a horizontal baton. There was not the slightest justification and he didn’t deserve to be shoved over. Nor did he deserve to be clubbed down with a baton, despite Corky’s opinion that peaceful, unarmed, old men deserve this.

Yeah, that’s right. Just because you can’t afford one. I purchased it on Aliexpress around 2013. They don’t sell them now. Price was $175, post free. Most didn’t work.
I must have got lucky with that one. Any middleclass waster big noting in a cafe on his phone for all to hear suddenly has to go outside to get reception…usually to the relief of most patrons.

Sean had a good show today. It was about how can we stop woke media and nutters gang banging anyone with a different opinion.

Looking at the posts above…starting with their inability to either accept or acknowledge the old nutter started the engagement that caused him serious injury, or the constant deflection away from what the clip shows, I must say: ‘Sean, I don’t have a clue as to what can done.’ What I may need to do is create some alternate identities so I can talk to myself..and offer myself some moral support. 😃👍

Yeah, I can see the reasoning about attacking someone. “They started the engagement officer, I finished it.”

Sean had a good show today about nutters? His field of experience I guess.

Since the link was mentioned it should be put up here for people to read and decide for themselves, Conservative Tree House

It includes not just the slo-mo video that Maggy referenced above, but Martin Gugino’s blog profile boasts about how many times he’s been arrested and escaped conviction, Tweets that made with the classic “Fuck the Police cry of Antifa, plus witness interviews that made it clear that he was there to do exactly that, as he has his entire Far Left activist life. It was so obvious that the Mayor of Buffalo talked about:

On Friday Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown admitted Gugino was a professional ‘agitator’ who tried to work up the crowd and had been asked to leave the area ‘numerous’ times.

“There has been vandalism, there have been fires set, there have been stores broken into & looted. According to what was reported to me, that individual was a key major instigator of people engaging in those activities.”

Plus a final photo of him sitting up on an ambulance bed with his head wrapped in bandages and talking on a phone. That’s some head injury.

And of course the 57 police who staffed the specialist squad established by the city for dealing with riots have quit in protest at the assault charges bought against the two officers. But hey, even in Deepest Blue Buffalo perhaps they’re closet Trump supporters?

Or soon will be if they continue to be thrown to the wolves by Democrat leaders they (or their union) helped to elect.

Martin Gugino succeeded in his plan, aided by screaming Far left Twitter and blogger activists, and an MSM that less interested in background investigative than clickbait.

But for me as a Right-Winger it’s all good: let Antifa and company destroy Police in these cities controlled top-to-bottom by the Democrat Party for decades. Let’s see how it pans out with the voters in those places – at least the ones who are still foolish enough to remain living there.

Oh – and embedded in that is this Twitter video of protestors arguing with Gugino because he’s advocating getting into fights with the Police, He was there to start trouble for the police.

Or as the young Black guy in the video says “I think he’s looking’ to get punched in the face”

    Probably a Russian plant.
