Great news, the racist rightwing poster Katie Hopkins is permanently banned from Twitter, shes just posted on Facebook that she still has facebook, but I feel not for long…a good start to the weekend even if I’m as sick as a dog.

    • She who thought it hilarious to mock the appearance of a cancer victim’s breasts and swollen arm. I know someone who had breast cancer and still has a swollen arm; she’s not someone I much like, but nothing would induce me to sneer at these things. Very bad karma apart from anything else. What sort of person mocks a cancer victim’s appearance ???

I loathe the hag who married a late friend and made his life hell, but I wouldn’t even do it if she had cancer.

I have been ill too, and am still a bit jelly-legged. At least it’s fine and warm and I have untold birds to look at.

    On the Covid front.
The homeless man is now the invisible homeless man.
Three quarters of the contact tracing tests are back and all are negative.
One of the pair in the arm across the back/hugs and kisses episode has returned a negative test the other result pending.

What do you mean? Are you saying the homeless man who slipped in to a hotel as a quarantinee has now disappeared, or that it was fake news and he never existed?

Well Woodhouse covered himself by saying the story was unverified.
The isolation facility apparently has strict sign in and sign out procedures and the Airforce guy says there is no evidence.

I wonder if it will go the way of the claim of the Gang member at the iwi roadblock that morphed into two women?

Strict sign in rules ! There appears to be nothing strict about much at all with the way this omnishambles has been run except for the spin, that has been unquestionably exemplary.
There was no evidence that the 2 women met up with a couple of mates getting lost on a 500 metre journey, no evidence of people wandering through a crowd of new arrivals in Wellington although there is evidence of it happening in Auckland, the 2 mysterious people who absconded at the tangi mysteriously became 6 with no evidence.

            Wrong road block.
I was referring to the claim in Parliament of the a campervan driver been turned around.
Have you evidence that there were no strict sign in out of the isolation hotel?
            Deflection?

          • As I understood it, six wandered off but only two actually did a runner.

Signing in and out is meaningless. How many times did Mickey and Minnie Mouse and the PM sign into caffs and bars all over NZ ?

Or ‘S Holmes, 221B Baker St, London.’ ? (yes, that was me)

All isolation rooms are pegged to your NH number.
Hence no evidence of the invisible homeless man.

      • The homeless man said it, so he must have been trying to get his 15 seconds of fame.

But really, it would be a good exercise to send the odd person in to see what checks are made, if any.

The National Health Index number (NHI number) is a unique identifier that is assigned to every person who uses health and disability support services in New Zealand. A person’s NHI number is stored on the National Health Index (NHI) along with that person’s demographic details.

I bet UMR wont be releasing any polls in the near future. Folk are pretty angry.
Muller had a terrible start and to be honest not sure I trust him on the economy because who knows what he stands for.
His 10k for taking on a staff member just got trumped by Robertson splurging 16k on an apprentice and the apprentice gets free training as well, I prefer Robertsons plan and thats something you wont hear me say very often. Of course Labour will stuff it up but its a better idea, they should take the money from universities social studies programs and redirect it and make it a net gain for the world.

            • She never did explain how it helped the latepayers if the others ended up losing their discount. It didn’t make them pay less because others now paid more.

Half of those, such as “taking mental health seriously” and claiming that throwing “more money” is the supposed solution are nebulous.

And I note, after her promise that 2019 was “the year of delivery” that Kiwibuild, their spectacularly failed marquee policy for the three years before the 2017, has now been airbrushed out in a Stalinist policy purge, never to be spoken of again.

          • The old idea of reversing something like that to see if it has any meaning applies here, Kimbo. Who has a policy of NOT taking mental health seriously, wanting to increase child poviddy, make more people homeless, not delivering whatever is meant by this unqualified statement and so on ? They are all weasel words.

I wish that the tired cliche that will never become true no matter how many times it’s dragged out (9 years of neglect) could be airbrushed out. It wasn’t true then, it’s not true now and it’s hackneyed beyond belief. Too yawnmaking.

Meanwhile Trumps people have been toppling a few ‘statues’ of their own
“Attorney General William P. Barr on Friday night abruptly tried to oust the United States attorney in Manhattan, Geoffrey S. Berman, the powerful federal prosecutor whose office sent President Trump’s former personal lawyer, Michael Cohen, to prison and who has been investigating Mr. Trump’s current personal lawyer, Rudolph W. Giuliani.”
Its not slaves but indictments against Trumps friends that were the problem. His replacement is a guy who never worked as a prosecutor…a doofus for Trump

If you’ve been testing here because some of your comments are not showing up when you hit the Post Comment button, something weird has been happening with my posts too since yesterday. I’m having to log back in to WordPress frequently because I randomly get a “Sorry, this comment cannot be posted” type message every so often. And the site login Email, Name & Website fields look different & behave differently.

As a matter of fact it just happened with this comment. I’m copying it & refreshibg the page to if it will post the 2nd time.

Not sure if the problem is with my iPad browser or WordPress, or both.

  6. I have just read about a young woman who stole a $10 bottle of wine from a supermarket as a teenager. Her guilt then made her go to the cop shop, hand it and herself in and pay a fine.

Now her real estate license has been suspended because of this. This seems a real shame.

Not suspended , she didnt qualify because of having a dishonesty conviction in last 10 years…did she not attend the part of the course that talked about ethics and honesty in real estate?

      Reply
      • Lapsus linguae.

This hardly counts as being unethical and dishonest. She dobbed herself in and freely paid the fine. I’d call that ethical and honest, she tried to put what she’d done right.

There would surely be a case for this sort of minor thing to be excluded; perhaps put a $ value on the offence.

Have you never done anything dishonest that has the potential to come back and bite you on the bum ?

How do you know who would be let in to wherever it is ? I suspect that the President would be given entry to most places.
