Open Forum Sunday

This post is open to anyone to comment on any topic that isn’t spam, illegal or offensive. All Your NZ posts are open but this one is for you to raise topics that interest you, or you think may interest others..

If providing opinions on or summaries of other information also provide a link to that information. Bloggers are welcome to summarise and link to their posts. Comments worth more exposure may be repeated as posts. Comments from other forums can be repeated here, cut and paste is fine.

Your NZ is a mostly political and social issues blog but not limited to that, and views from anywhere on the political spectrum are welcome. Some ground rules:

  • If possible support arguments, news, points or opinions with links to sources and facts.
  • Please don’t post anything illegal, potentially defamatory or abusive.

FIRST TIME COMMENTERS: Due to abuse by a few, first comments under any ID will park in moderation until released (as soon as possible but it can sometimes take a while).

Sometimes comments will go into moderation or spam automatically due to mistyped ID, too many links (>4), or trigger text or other at risk criteria. If they pass muster they will be released as soon as possible (it can sometimes take hours).

Cult is natural. Without it, we wouldn’t get anything done, and there are times when a person needs cult for the sake of his mental health. The crunch comes when he finds himself, spat out, at the bottom of the cult slide and finds himself with a choice – again –

Dude says UFO committed an act of war. I’m sure them aliens are mighty scared of that good ole boy. Hell, they were probably shaking in their inter-dimensional bio suits.

They probably do. We used to get letters detailing when they would be working on the lines.
Now it’s a simple upload to a local community page which is easy to miss..

Interesting article in stuff today suggesting that wearing masks may limit the amount of the virus you get which then determines the severity of the illness, the more virus you get the worse the sickness.

“Increasing evidence suggests that the amount of virus someone is exposed to at the start of infection – the “infectious dose” – may determine the severity of their illness.”

Very weak evidence…. as its not something you can really tell ‘how much covid dose a person gets’.
You might think those that are asymptomatic ( mild dose) would increase massively due to widespread masking. Dont know that its much more than the original 40%
But an interesting take on things. The downside is that a mild infection is still a spreader to others.

A mild infection may not be much of a spreader to others.

. Most people have no symptoms at all in the first 5days as the illness develops, they can still spread infection.
That’s one of the major issues with Covid is the infection spread before the person even suspects they have it
Don’t think there is a lot of support for the view there is exposed to immunise as cases seem to be skyrocketing, it’s the deaths that have plumetting

‘Covid 19 coronavirus: We were discriminated against says Mt Roskill church leader.’

“We don’t really know too much about science. We don’t really know too much about politics.
“We believe God is totally in control.”

Not a very discriminating God I guess. In control? Doesn’t show the control to go around killing and taking very sick who are just those who believe in Her. If that were so I would be pleased for the Pastor and his supporters to be the only cabs off the rank affected.
