According to Stuff “Friends” should come with a trigger warning, be censored or probably not shown at all.
    https://www.stuff.co.nz/entertainment/tv-radio/122993937/all-the-kids-are-watching-friends-but-its-not-this-shows-day-week-month-or-even-its-year-anymore
Its wildly popular with young people, and older people because its funny, well written, well acted and the least nasty show ever played by the nicest people on earth. If this is triggering then we have a generation coming through who have no resilience because they have been infantilized.
I suspect there is .0001% of the population who happen to work in jobs that give their voices an outsized platform and have these very strange opinions. Taking the p.ss and laughing at each other has always been one of lifes great joys, it stops you taking yourself too seriously.

America is a failed state, it doesnt have the capacity or competence at any level of government to run like a first world country. America still relies on cheap labour to survive but the trouble is that this labour has come through a terrible education system and when combined with every serious position of leadership being a political one they are now in a state of decline. Its the end for them sadly.
Trump didnt kill it but succesive administrations did while operating in a political system designed 300 years ago that is not fit for purpose. Trump is the result of decades of terrible governance,, it was a desperate last gasp, he is just the undertaker looking down at a dying patient.
Take one single problem that in any other normal country which would be fixed by legislation and then imagine trying to get it through Congress, approved by the Senate, signed off by the President and then not overturned by the Supreme Court or challenged by an individual state. Both parties love the gridlock and shouting because its a good fundraiser and they care not a jot about fixing anything.

A group alleged to have been planning to kidnap Michigan Governor Whitmer have one thing going for them, their surnames. ‘Fox’ is not going to attract the reaction that ‘El Fayed’ for example would.

They probably also have a residual fan club from the street demonstrations in Lansing some months back.

Given its widely acknowledged the Labour caucus after the too 3 is pretty awful is the extra 10 MPs they are going to get have any unmentioned talent. A potential.superstar or are they all much the same.
There are a couple of employment lawyers, some unionists and some folk steeped in politics but just wondered if there was anyone unusual.

Have a look , one is a highly qualified doctor and epidemiology expert
theres Dr Gaurav Sharma a GP in Hamilton, one of many medical trained people.

theres a former Army mechanic in Christchurch more than a match for former wood work teacher ( another teacher !)
So they have some employment lawyers , while Nats have PR people -so many-and conveyancing lawyers.
Then there was the Nats former instructor at the Peoples Liberation Army University- but used the shadow civilian university as his cover

Doctor reckons breathing is the way to go. I personally aren’t into the counting thing. Let your body tell you what to do regarding time spent breathing in; holding, and breathing out.

The main thing is the vital force is increased by breathing.

Trump chickens out of 2nd debate …as I predicted earlier this week , inspite of him claiming ‘full recovery’…he isnt of course recovered and his exact medical treatment and results of scans and tests are supressed.

The reason for the ‘chickening out’?

because it will be ‘done remotely’
Trump said all this while doing a ‘remote’ call to Fox Business show for over an hour of unhinged rants
-Trump says “I don’t think I’m contagious at all,”
Which, not being a doctor, isn’t his call to make.
-Trump suggested that he got Covid-19 from Gold Star families.
Because why not blame it on the troops that he thinks are “losers” and “suckers”?
-Trump tells Bartiromo he shut down stimulus talks because he didn’t “want to play games.”
Which is, in fact, playing games.
-Trump tells Attorney General Bill Barr that Clinton, Obama, and Biden should be indicted.
    For unspecified (and nonexistent) crimes.
-Trump whines that his FBI Director Chris has “been disappointing.”
Because he won’t go along with persecuting Trump’s enemies.
-Trump lied (again) about getting $28 billion from China in tariffs.
    It was actually zero dollars.

So just to be clear, Trump is saying that he is virulently opposed to doing remote communications in the midst of remotely communicating with Bartiromo for an hour long segment on Fox News. And he does these segments frequently with other Fox Always-Trumpers like Sean Hannity, Lou Dobbs, and the “Curvy Couch” potatoes of Fox and Friends. ”

A debate for the public with his opposing candidate is out the question?

Things continue to unravel in the US as Pelosi looks to invoke the 25th amendment.

“Trump “is, shall we say, in an altered state right now” and “the disassociation from reality would be funny if it weren’t so deadly,” the 80-year-old speaker added while wearing a mask.”

“In the surprise move on Thursday, Pelosi revealed that Democrats will meet to focus on the 25th amendment to the constitution, which contains a clause that allows a president to be removed from office against his will because of physical or mental incapacity.”

Others think differently about Trumps ‘position’ if Biden goes ahead on 2nd debate….without him.

‘“If you think Trump is going to refuse an audience of 80 million people, I got a gold tower on Fifth Avenue to sell you,” said Matt Gorman, a Republican strategist. “This is a negotiating mechanism.”

President Donald Trump’s physician said on Thursday that Trump had completed his course of therapy for the coronavirus, had remained stable since returning to the White House and could return to public engagements on Saturday.

Dr. Sean Conley said in a memo released by the White House that Trump had responded “extremely well” to treatment without any evidence of adverse effects.

“Since returning home, his physical exam has remained stable and devoid of any indications to suggest progression of illness,” Conley wrote. “Saturday will be day 10 since Thursday’s diagnosis, and based on the trajectory of advanced diagnostics the team has been conducting, I fully anticipate the President’s safe return to public engagements at that time.”

The alleged scheme included plans to overthrow several state governments that the suspects “believe are violating the US Constitution,” including the government of Michigan and Whitmer, according to a federal criminal complaint.”

“The statutes of the Nobel Foundation restrict disclosure of information about the nominations, whether publicly or privately, for 50 years. The restriction concerns the nominees and nominators, as well as investigations and opinions related to the award of a prize.”

The criteria is broader than ‘bring peace to warring countries’ …that would exclude Trump as The Emirates and Israel werent at war ( and that ‘pact’ was past the nomination deadline 1 feb)

        • Confidential means the same as secret. I said it was confidential, and it is. You are contradicting for the sake of being disagreeable. You must know what confidential means.

I assumed (wrongly ?) that it was obvious that ‘no one knows’ meant no one except the committee, nominees and nominators; in other words, no outsiders. I should have spelt it out in easy, one syllable words, but forgot to allow for wilful misunderstanding.

It’s well known that the nominees (apart from the winner) are not announced for 50 years.

I won’t go looking for a quote of you stating precisely that flu would kill more than Covid, since last time I did that you felt it constituted stalking, at least that was the deflection. But I think we would be hard pressed to find any regular reader here who would support the contention that you have not numerously and in various ways promoted the idea that lockdown was an outrageous imposition which cost more lives than it was saving.

Here’s one reason I don’t want National in government.

Who ever is elected to government will face a tsunami of issues like this:

    https://www.stuff.co.nz/national/health/123039277/contraceptive-pill-shortage-sees-low-supply-of-four-commonly-used-drugs

Issues will come one after another for the whole term of that government. This will jade them and take away any shine they had pre election.

The side issue for this is it will probably cost a few women their lives. Some women are critically sensitive to some branded pills. Switching brands is always dangerous FOR SOME.
