Juana Atkins responsible for dirty ops at The BFD

SB/spanish bride/Juana Atkins has added to the vindictive assaults at The BFD, yesterday attacking myself and commenters here.

Pete George ( yes I know none of you have ever heard of him) likes to pretend that he has a higher standard of ethics than other bloggers but here is just a sample of the kinds of comments that he allows on his tumbleweed blog site where ex commenters from well-moderated websites go to bitch in a nice little circle jerk of nastiness . . .

Very ironic and funny, but the post looks to be some sort of a threat. Atkins hid the rest behind their paywall, so few will see it.

The post looked like it was on Lauda Finem – it even looks like an old photo from a post at LF five years ago was used. It’s actually protected by ODT copyright, Atkins would know that if she sourced it from there.

Since the NZ First/journalist photograph issue blew up following a past at The BFD there has been a series of attack posts there, targeting the journalists Guyon Espiner and Matt Shand. They even had a go at Sean Plunket – possibly to try and attract some publicity on talk back radio.

Journalism 101: a Remedial Primer for Sean Plunket was also posted under ‘SB’. Yesterday Plunket was targeted by ‘Xavier Theodore Reginald Ordinary’ in Rank Hypocrisy from the Media Party. They are in full on attack mode, except when they are running defence posts for Winston Peters and Jami-Lee Ross. What a combination.

While Cameron Slater has received renewed attention (and brought some attention on himself) over the past couple of weeks, Atkins looks like an integral part of The BFD operation.

She appears to have managed The BFD since they shifted to it from Whale Oil a year ago to try to avoid legal and financial problems.

Just before Slater declared himself bankrupt he handed over his shares in Social Media Consultants Limited to Atkins, leaving her as sole director and shareholder. Then that company was put into liquidation. From the Six Monthly Liquidators Report:

Action from that may still be pending. In the meantime, it looks like registration of the BFD website has changed.

Both the Registrant and Admin contact addresses are sb@thebfd.co.nz. And the Registrant Name and Admin Contact Name are Suva Media Company Limited.

This company was set up as Madas 117 Limited by an accountant on 25 February last year, around when The BFD was set up. The name was changed to Suva Media Company Limited a day later.

Atkins became a director on 6 March 2019, and the shareholding was transferred to her on 24 March. The initial director ceased on 7 August leaving Atkins as the sole director and shareholder.

While others may be acting as apparent agents of NZ First and Jami-Lee Ross on The BFD, attacking the National Party and it’s leadership in particular, and journalists who expose what they are doing, Atkins is clearly involved in the dirty politics too. And appears to hold financial and legal responsibility for the website.

NZ First, Jami-Lee Ross and The BFD seem destined for self-destruction, but will likely keep lashing out as they spiral downwards.

They should have learned by now, journalists like Espiner and Plunket, and I, won’t be intimidated into silence.

Links between NZ First and The BFD journalist threat agenda

David Garrett at Kiwiblog suggested I also post this here. Thanks for your advice David. Funny to see you playing interference for NZ First and The BFD.

In response to a post at Kiwiblog on The mute PM

One down, more Whale Oil sites targeted

Yesterday Matt Blomfield took control of the whaleoil.co.nz website after purchasing it from liquidators. he has it redirecting to his own site which has a postscript to the Margie Thomson book Whale Oil. It concludes:

This site — whaleoil.co.nz — now serves as a perpetual memorial to the injustices inflicted on all those people, and to Matt’s long battle to curtail falsity, bullying and manipulation.

That is a very fine ending.

It is a fine ending to the original Whale Oil blog site, which became too nasty and too toxic, with Cameron Slater and those who supplied, aided and abetted him abusing the power of media while they could get away with it.

But the website had moved onto other sites.

Some of the recent events are traceable within the records of the Companies Register. There, the dry accumulation of company names, name changes, changes in shareholdings and directorships whispers of the sheer human drama and desperate planning that has gone on behind the scenes as Slater and his supporters seemed to do everything they could think of to rescue something from their sinking ship. Social Media Consultants, then-owner of the whaleoil blog, went into liquidation. A new company, Madas 114, was set up and then shortly after became WOBH; whaleoil.co.nz became whaleoil.net.nz before morphing, chameleon-like, into a completely new blogsite. Slater passed all his shareholdings and directorships to his wife, to his accountant, and then back to his wife.

The liquidator quickly took issue with what she identified as the illegal transfer of assets away from creditors and into new entities.

In short, the estimated claims against Slater and his company so far total more than $4.7 million.

‘Fill your boots,’ Slater said a few years ago. ‘When you’ve got nothing to lose, you’re dangerous.’

His problem now is that Blomfield has nothing to lose by finishing his goal of shutting down Whale Oil – all of it.

Blomfield’s lawyer, Felix Geiringer, tweeted yesterday afternoon:

Actually an attempt has been made to distance ownership of whaleoil.net.nz and thebfd.co.nz away from Slater and his wife Juana Atkins.

One is  registered to Regan Cunliffe, a long time associate of Slater (a few years ago they had jointly planned to set up some great new media site but I think funding fell through).

The other is registered to Andrea Parkes (who provides a whaleoil.org.nz contact email address).

Blomfield has proven he has determination and tenacity. He has a very capable lawyer who also seems to have determination to see this through. And they have widespread popular support to bury a dead horse.

Slater may feel he has little more to lose, and Atkins may also be similar.

But I wonder how willing Cunliffe and Parkes may be to be dragged into the legal mire.

And for what? Trying to give life support to a toxic, failed brand? And potentially being parties to attempts to misappropriate assets in a bankruptcy and in a liquidation?

Actually, Atkins may have quite a bit to lose.

Juana Atkins did not reply to the liquidator; neither did she comply with demands to relinquish control of the assets. On August 5, the liquidator who, remember, is an officer of the Court, wrote to the police for assistance, citing six sections of the Crimes Act she believed Atkins may have breached. The police replied briefly, telling Toon she should take her complaint to the front desk of her nearest police station.

Things may be yet to catch up on her.

That same day, a link to a nasty website was circulated, devoted to taunting the liquidator in the most horrible ways.

That is dumb – and I know someone who is trying to do this. They have been a significant contributor to attacks against Blomfield and to the the downfall of Slater. And they seem intent on continuing in their destructive behaviour. That may well catch up on them too.

Atkins still promoting and stoking Islamophobia at Whale Oil

Whale Oil has stoked and promoted intolerance against Islam and Muslims for years, with generalised attacks and mass blaming common from both Cameron Slater and Juana Atkins (posting as SB, commenting as spanishbride). Slater has dropped out, but Atkins has kept up her campaign of prejudice and denigration.

There was a slight pause when the Christchurch mosques were attacked, but it didn’t take long for Atkins to resume stoking the Islamophobic fire, pouring oil at the Whale. If anything it has increased.

On Monday Atkins (SB) posted Things that make me go hmm

She first quoted from a Stuff article (Whale Oil bases many of their posts on mainstream media articles, despite slamming the quality of media and claiming to be an alternative).

Woman forced to leave Auckland pool over claims her bikini was inappropriate

A woman was left flabbergasted after she was told her bikini was inappropriate to wear at a public pool.

Yvette Harvie-Salter, 26, was at Albany Stadium Pool, on Auckland’s North Shore, on Saturday with her partner to use the adults only sauna and spa – something she has done three times a week for the past two years.

She was told her bikini from Glassons was not appropriate swimwear and some women had complained about what she was wearing for the “last little while”.

Harvie-Salter said she had been wearing the same bikini for the past few months but was told she couldn’t wear it at the pool and was asked if she had any other bikinis at home.

[…] “Her words were ‘it’s not a rule at Albany Stadium Pool but all these mums have complained’,” she said.
“She pretty much didn’t take a bar up of it and she said ‘well you’ve got to wrap up. You’ve got to put a towel around you if you are wanting to walk around wearing that bikini’.”

[…] “It just feels like body shaming, really,” she said. “I am really hurt by it.”

Harvie-Salter said she saw men at the pool all the time wearing “tiny little Speedos” and they had never been told to cover up.

She said she refused to cover up her bikini and as a result, had to leave.

[…] McGee said there were no rules banning certain types of swimwear at Auckland Council pools.

Here is the whole Stuff article:  Woman felt forced to leave Auckland pool over claims her bikini was inappropriate

What SB did not quote (apart from the last line) was:

Rob McGee, head of active recreation at Auckland Council, said he was disappointed a customer was made to feel unwelcome at the pool she regularly used.

“On behalf of the lifeguard who spoke to the customer and the team at Albany, I would like to offer a sincere apology to the customer.

“We are sorry she was made to feel uncomfortable, and the lifeguard who passed on the feedback from other pool users now realises this wasn’t the right thing to do.”

McGee said Harvie-Salter, who rightly felt offended and upset, was given a refund and left the pool.

“She was never asked to leave, however we understand her decision. We will be contacting the customer directly to apologise and ensure she knows she is welcome back anytime.”

McGee said there were no rules banning certain types of swimwear at Auckland Council pools.

So it seems to have been an overstepping by a lifeguard, and annoyed swimmer, followed by an apology and an assurance. Not a big deal overall.

But Atkins didn’t leave it at that. She tacked on summaries of three old Whale Oil posts:

Mount Roskill brings segregation and apartheid to public pools in New Zealand – by SB on march 19, 2017

The headline says, “Women-only swim night ‘very popular’ among Muslim community” but it was the Muslim community that asked for and was provided with segregated swimming lessons. A public pool is being partially closed one night a week to give Muslim women the opportunity to enjoy some uninterrupted time in the water

In that post Atkins also said:

This is how segregation will be spread throughout New Zealand’s public swimming pools. By denying the obvious truth that this is a special segregation created to meet the needs of the Muslim community they are sugar-coating it with the falsehood that fat women will benefit from the classes being available. Anyone who buys that lie deserves a New Zealand where the Muslim community successfully brings Apartheid to our public swimming pools. Once they have achieved that concession New Zealand wide it will be spread to our public beaches, our schools and elsewhere. It is called cultural Jihad, destroying our freedom and equal rights from within our society and the well-meaning but naive idiots in Mount Roskill are letting them.

You don’t help people to integrate by pandering to an oppressive culture. You help them to integrate by making it clear which aspects of their culture are unacceptable inside our society. I predict that Mount Roskill will become the first Muslim suburb of Auckland. They have taken control of a public pool and it will not be the only public facility that they will pressure to become ” culturally appropriate.

Covert Islamic segregation at Wellington Regional Aquatic Centre by SB on March 24, 2017

In Auckland WaterSafe were upfront about their Islamic segregation policy. They openly provided a rate payer funded Muslim Women’s Swimming programme for 12 years in Mount Roskill. At some point, they decided to go under the radar and re-named it the Womens’ Swimming programme but not everyone got the memo and up until Whaleoil broke the story ( admittedly 12 years too late) it was still being advertised and timetabled as Muslim Women’s Swimming lessons.

SB concludes:

Wellington Council like Auckland Council is providing Sharia compliant swimming lessons for Muslim women. They have gone to the trouble of putting lipstick on the pig but it is still a pig.

She went to the trouble of being deliberately offensive.

Step two: curtains around the public pool by SB on May 19, 2017

Useful Infidels think that my posts about the Muslim women only swimming programme at the public swimming pool in Mount Roskill (that had been provided on the tax payer’s dollar for twelve years quietly under the radar) was no big deal. I was making a mountain out of a molehill, and what harm did modest Muslim women pose to our society by segregating themselves from the public eye in a public swimming pool? My premise that it was only step one in a slow but relentless march towards the Islamification of New Zealand society was ridiculous they said.

These three posts from two years ago appear to have no connection to this week’s bikini story, which made no reference at all to anything to do with Islam or Muslim. Atkins has used her old posts as an excuse to continue her campaign of prejudiced Muslim bashing.

And she seems to have achieved her objective – generating Islamophobia in comments.

jonno1:

Sadly, my second thought for the reason for the ban was what this post implies. The first was that perhaps the bikini was a bit skimpy, until I saw the photo of a perfectly ordinary item of swimwear. The reference to mums also makes no sense as the spa is described as adults only. Still, the Albany Stadium Pool management can quickly clear this up by clarifying the source of the complaint. Yeah, right.

Poppa:

I’m surprised Jacinda didn’t turn up at the time (just by coincidence) and let her borrow her headscarf to cover up which ever bits somebody found offensive.

Hans:

This is a lot like hate speech, if a person finds it offensive it’s considered hate speech. This is a slippery slope, if i was that women i would get my friends together and hopefully one is a lawyer and see what happens. I bet they don’t get the police because the council cant just make up rules on a day to day basis.
They have to abide by the law, this is not Iran or the 1930’s, i would dare them to arrest me and see how that plays out. The only way to stop this rubbish is right at the start before it gets life of it’s own.

Ian:

There will be a lot more behind this rubbish than meets the eye . . . we now must compete with an unelected unwanted PM, dangerous Greens, and Islam if we want to keep our sanity.

Tracy:

It is a bikini – it is appropriate swimwear for a pool. If the overweight middle aged judgmental “mothers” don’t like it then either go somewhere else or put the biscuit tin down. I am saying this as a middle aged overweight mother clutching the chardonnay & chocolate for dear life. How dare the lifeguard ask her to leave based ion the whining of a group of self entitled minority stay at homers (I am guessing) who are jealous of the younger thinner model. I hope she returns with a group of her bikini clad size 6 posse in tow & splash about right in front of the complainers judgey faces.

Unlima Siempre:

It’ll be Islamic women that are complaining.

Dave:

I want to reverse this complaint. A woman has been told she cannot wear her Burka at an Auckland Council Swimming pool, as its a swimming pool and the weight of the fabric is dangerous in the pool as it will get wet and heavy.

Wonder how that would go down with the perpetually outraged??

spanishbride obviously had no problem with the discussion she had prompted, joining the Muslim-bashing  thread:

I think i should take some time off work this week and go for a spa with my daughter. It sounds relaxing. I have a lovely navy bikini that needs an outing. I’d like to see them try to boss her around. Yeah, sounds like a plan.

And this wasn’t an isolated example. The following day SB posted Now they are coming for our ANZAC day

And so it begins. Cultural and historical ANZAC commemorations are shut down. Two ANZAC day parades so far in New Zealand have been cancelled that I know of and I am sure that there will be more to come. One is the Papakura ANZAC parade. The other is the Matakana ANZAC service.

The reason given for the cancellation of one of them is the threat of “Vehicular terrorism.” Trucks of peace in other (politically incorrect) words.

I can’t imagine that the high terror threat is coming from Greenie eco-Fascists as Tarrant described himself. Why would they target an ANZAC day parade? I can’t imagine White supremacists targeting ANZACS either. I wonder where the threat could possibly be coming from?

It’s obvious where threats of intolerance, division and potentially violence are coming from – Atkins. One comment (from Tiger):

I can’t imagine that the high terror threat is coming from Greenie eco-Fascists as Tarrant described himself. Why would they target an ANZAC day parade? I can’t imagine White supremacists targeting ANZACS either. I wonder where the threat could possibly be coming from?

spanishbride was also active in comments:

This is not surprising. We are merely following in the footsteps of Europe where Jewish celebrations have been cancelled by the government who said they could not protect them. It starts happening after the first terror attack and then the next year they find an excuse to cancel it again and before you know it historical and cultural celebrations have been removed due to the ongoing terror alert.

Juana Atkins appears to be managing Whale Oil now, and controlling content. She seems intent on continuing to stoke insidious Islamophobia.

The persistence and volume of these niggles and attacks and fearmongering posts and comments, orchestrated by Atkins, makes me wonder whether Whale Oil could be labelled a hate site.

Whale Oil’s golden rule of commenting:

Each comment should:

  • be on the topic of the post
  • add information, a point of view or a contribution of some substance and
  • be respectful and do no harm to others.

While the volume of Islamophobic comments appear to be ‘on the topic’ (or intent of the topic), and add points of view adding substance to Atkins attacks and provocations, she makes a mockery of “be respectful and do no harm to others”.

Liquidated Whale Oil company owes more than half a million dollars

The liquidator of Social Media Consultants has already issued her first report. While total debts are unknown (including the bank and IRD) Sundry Creditors total $519,625, and there’s another $146,361 owed to the shareholder Current Account, and subscribers with an estimated $5,000 paid in advance.

Most of the sundry creditors are likely to be lawyers bills and court awarded costs in several defamation proceedings Cameron Slater and Social media Consultants Limited remain embroiled in.

The only assets apart from $856 in the bank and $4,538 debtors are Intangibles – listed as blog, domain name and IP.

Slater’s stroke may have had some impact on ongoing income, but his legal costs must have had most impact. he was hit with several expensive legal whammies in the weeks just before and after he had his stroke.

$5,000 doesn’t sound a lot for 300+ subscribers. perhaps most of them are only paying monthly. That would be a prudent approach at this stage.

Who would be interested in buying Whale Oil?

It’s difficult to know what the blog and website address would be worth. It would hardly be a going concern, and it could be an expensive hobby.

The liquidator states that a priority is obtaining a legal opinion on “the ability to sell the blog which contains personal information that may be subject to legal proceedings in the future”. It could be a big job checking the vast content still online for legal risks.

There might be most value from someone who had an interest in buying Whale Oil to shut the blog down and scrap all contents. That would be a huge fall from the heights it reached five years ago. Dirty Politics probably precipitated the fall, but the ongoing legal issues ended up being the most damaging.

Slater has ruled himself out of involvement in the blog, and it’s difficult to see how the current sole shareholder, Juana Atkins, can continue there either. Atkins has done a huge job reorganising and running Whale Oil over the last few months, but she may not see much for her efforts.

NZ Herald:  Whale Oil company owes more than $670,000 – liquidator

I can find no sign of this news on Whale Oil, nor of the company going into liquidation earlier in the week.

They are still advertising subscriptions and meat. They have shuffled things to different companies, but this must be a but suspect, especially the subscriptions.

Whale Oil company put into liquidation after rearrangements

Social Media Consultants Limited, the company that until recently was the owner of the Whale Oil blog, has been put into liquidation.

Last month Cameron Slater’s shares were transferred to his wife Juana Atkins, who became sole shareholder and director (she had been joint owner and director until then.

Soon after that Slater filed for bankruptcy.

Also last month the website registration for whaleoil.co.nz was transferred to a new company WOBH Limited, owned by an accountant associated with Slater.

Yesterday a liquidator was appointed for Social Media Consultants Limited

Stuff:  Whale Oil company previously owned by Cameron Slater goes into liquidation

The company that owned the controversial blog Whale Oil has been put into liquidation.

Social Media Consultants Limited, which was previously owned by Cameron Slater, was put into voluntary liquidation on Monday, by his wife and sole shareholder Juana Mary Atkins.

Slater vacated as a shareholder of the company in February. Another company was set up called Wobh Ltd. under Atkins’ name at the same time.

The above details are from the companies website as of today. I’m fairly sure that that company history and documentation has been changed, I checked companies last month and I saw no mention of MADAS Limited.

I suspect some of those arrangements and rearrangements will be checked out.

Stuff:

It is not clear what the move means for the future of the site, which was still active on Tuesday.

I have seen no mention of any of this over the past two months on the Whale Oil website

Slater officially bankrupt, Whale Oil, Whale Meat ownership changes

On Tuesday at 8:00 am Whale Oil announced that legal costs had led Cameron Slater “to make the very difficult decision to declare bankruptcy, since he is unable to generate enough passive revenue to fund the three extremely expensive and in his opinion, vexatious, defamation actions against him.”

Bankruptcy can be tough, but it can also be a relief to have someone else (the Official Assignee) dealing with your financial problems.

A comment at The Standard yesterday from Redbaiter:

Among all the commentary on this event, there is little information on blogs or in the MSM on how the bankruptcy will effect the Whaleoil blog and its subscribers,

My understanding is that if someone becomes bankrupt then the official assignee takes over all of their affairs. The idea is to ascertain what revenue is available for the creditors.

One assumes the blog is a business, with revenue from subscription and advertising, and it also has some connection with the Whaleoil Meat Company.

So will this “business” be henceforth run by an Administrator appointed by the Official Assignee, and/ or will it be closed down as a loss making enterprise & therefore of no value to creditors?

If it is deemed of value, could it be sold off?

Would guess Slater’s legal team will have done what they could to minimise the effects of his bankruptcy on the blog, but IIRC, the OA can look at what happened in the recent past and reverse any actions taken to hide assets away.

People who have subscriptions to the blog, or are considering renewing them need answers to these questions. Same goes for meat purchasers.

Good points. Readers of Whale Oil don’t appear to have been informed about the implications of the bankruptcy. They were still advertising for subscriptions and trying to sell meat yesterday and again today.

Ownership of various things could take a while to sort out. There have been a number of changes over the last couple of months.

Social Media Consultants Limited

On 22 February 2019 documents were filed with the Companies Register removing Slater as a director and shareholder of Social Media Consultants Limited, effective 1 February 2019.

Juana Atkins (Slater’s wife and apparent manager of the Whale Oil blog, is now sole director and shareholder.

The registered office is shown as Howard K TAYLOR – ACCOUNTANT.

Social Media Consultants Limited is named as second defendant in the Blomfield v Slater defamation. In October a court found that Slater and Social Media Consultants Limited had no credible defence – see What Whale Oil isn’t telling their readers

Whale Meat Company Limited

http://app.companiesoffice.govt.nz/co/7292558

In advertising last year the Whale Oil meat selling venture was described at Whale Meat Company.

On 25 February 2019 Whale Meat Company Limited was registered. Incorporation date 25 February 2019.

Sole director and shareholder is Howard Karl TAYLOR.

From The Whale Meat Company website About:

Whale Meat became a reality when Cam tapped some of his many contacts to help supply meat, set up and run The Whale Meat Company.

You can take advantage of the buying power of Cam and the Oilers and enjoy restaurant quality meat delivered to you, by buying the pack that suits you, when it suits you.

The impression there is that Cam was instrumental in setting up and running the company.

WOHB Limited

http://app.companiesoffice.govt.nz/co/7271736

On 13 February  2019 WOBH Limited was registered, Incorporation date: 13 Feb 2019

Sole director and shareholder Howard Karl TAYLOR.

whaleoil.co.nz

https://www.dnc.org.nz/whois/search?domain_name=whaleoil.co.nz

The domain name was first registered on 2 November 2005.

It was last modified 25 February 2019 11:00 pm

Registrant name: WOBH Limited

However the address remains as Slater’s address, and the contact is sb at whaleoil – aka ‘spanish bride’ and Juana Atkins, Slater’s wife.

I expect that the Official Assignee will be looking at some of these ownership changes.

I’m not sure that these various ownership switches are a good way of reducing Slater’s stress.

Whale Oil dives deeper into dirt

Lurcher alerted me to this in a manner that was unsuitable for posting, but he makes a valid point – Whale Oil is sinking to shitty depths. One of the latest examples is a photoshopped image linking a Government MP to Charles Manson – I’m not linking to it and don’t want the image shown here.

It was posted under the authorship of ‘SB” – Spanish Bride, also known as Juana Atkins. She seems to have increased her management role at Whale Oil after the recent departure of Pete Belt.

Also posted under ‘SB’ recently was a  cartoon depicting African people as apes. Claiming ‘free speech’ is one thing but that doesn’t excuse being dirty and derogatory.

Posts under ‘Cameron Slater’ have also reverted to more of his bully blog style, with repeated petty labelling and name calling and derogatory comments. Political blogging reverting to it’s worst.

Yesterday alone, after other media had largely moved on, Whale Oil featured at least eight posts attacking MP Golriz Ghahraman and the Green Party.

That’s a gross misrepresentation, presumably deliberate, at best.

Whale Oil has also been running a sustained series of attack posts on Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern which have been at times blatantly misogynist.

All this dirt does is discredits Atkins, Slater and Whale Oil even more (if that’s possible) and gives critics justification for proclaiming the return of ‘Dirty Politics’, which has already been done, associating David Farrar and Kiwiblog and Jordan Williams, who have also been attacking Ghahraman, and also the National Party by association.

This goes far outside acceptable standards of political coverage.

Dirty bully blogging is back as Whale Oil sinks into the mud, while hypocritically regularly applauding their standards.

Slater claims $16m defamation against Craig

The tit for tat defamation cases between Cameron Slater (and his Social Media Consultants company) and Colin Craig started today. It is expected to run for three weeks.

Slater is claiming $16 million, which is a big call in more ways than one, given that Jordan Williams’ $1.27 million was ruled excessive by the judge in that case who ruled a miscarriage of justice.

RNZ:  Colin Craig likens alleged defamation to medieval punishment

Colin Craig opened his defamation case at the High Court in Auckland against Cameron Slater and the company that owns Mr Slater’s blog, saying his reputation was dragged through the mud.

ODT: Slater ‘inaccurate, irresponsible’ – Colin Craig

Former Conservative Party leader Colin Craig says allegations that he was a ”sexual deviant” and paid his former press secretary ‘hush money” are untrue.

Craig is suing Cameron Slater and his social media business for defamation at a trial started at the Auckland High Court before Justice Kit Toogood.

Craig says the allegations written on Whale Oil Beef Hooked were irresponsible, inaccurate and very damaging.

ODT: Blogger to sue Craig for $16m

The blogger counter-suing former Conservative Party leader Colin Craig is seeking more than $16 million in damages.

But Craig will have to leave how much he is potentially awarded up to the courts because he’s suing a media outlet.

Craig’s defamation case against right-wing blogger Cameron Slater began today at the Auckland High Court before Justice Kit Toogood.

He claims 18 publications between April 29 and July 19, 2015, were “seriously defamatory”.

The allegations culminated in his stepping down from the Conservative Party, which he founded, because his political aspirations were ruined and his reputation had been destroyed.

Craig said his resignation wasn’t because the claims were true but because they’d taken on a “life of their own” during a “media firestorm”.

The defamation case will mean a return to Craig’s relationship with his former press secretary Rachel MacGregor which were central to another suit late last year.

I doubt she will be happy about that, given that she told Williams not to do anything because she didn’t want to cause harm.

Mr Slater repeated the allegations in statements made to mainstream media and reiterated they were correct. Craig referenced a Whale Oil post in which he said:

“Look these allegations are true, I wouldn’t have published them if they weren’t”.

Because Craig is suing a media outlet, if the court rules in his favour it will decide what damages he is awarded.

However, Mr Slater is suing an individual so is able to sue for a specific amount and is seeking $16,234,020 from Craig.

I guess that amount is related to the number of booklets delivered to households. It looks like a huge risk going so high on damages.

Talking of risks, Slater’s wife posted on Whale Oil today saying she was bored with court, and solicited subscriptions: I feel a headache coming on

Being part of a court case isn’t as much fun as you would imagine.

But really it is like this…Boring!

To get through the next few weeks I am going to need someone to sign up to Whaleoil every day just so I can keep myself awake.

She then uses some lame graphics to promote subscriptions. Trying to profit off a defamation base against their website seems like an odd and potentially risk thing to do. Juana Atkins is co-director with Slater and 99% majority shareholder with Social Media Consultants Ltd so has a financial interest in the case.

Atkins promoting violence and intolerance

Having just posted about female involvement in domestic violence I came across this post by Spanish Bride at Whale Oil, where she is promoting extreme intolerance and violence in the wake of the Orlando gay nightclub massacre.

This is the sort of inflammatory rhetoric that can encourage nutters like the Orlander killer to perpetrate extreme violence.

This is disgraceful from a website that promotes itself as leading alternative media in New Zealand.

Face of the day

Read what today’s face of the day Milo Yiannopoulos has to say about the Muslim terrorist massacre in Florida. Gays were targeted for death by the Muslim terrorist and Milo ( himself a gay man ) has some serious words for us all.

America has to make a choice. Does it want gay rights, women’s emancipation, and tolerance for people of all nonviolent faiths — or does it want Islam?

…So, most Muslims think I’m unacceptable. Fine. I also think their religion is unacceptable. And not just “radicals” and “extremists” — their entire, barbaric, backwards ideology. 100 million people live in Muslim countries where homosexuality is punishable by death.

We can’t go on like this. We can’t live in an America where gays fear going to night clubs, where satirists fear execution for their speech, where cartoonists consider whether their next drawing might get them killed.

Today’s killings prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that we need to give particular scrutiny to certain faiths. Gays, apostates, and women are tired of being abused, harassed, and murdered by followers of the “religion of peace.”

And politicians have to stop lying about the link between Islam and these horrific acts.

…The gay Establishment, run by far-left wackos, is of course part of the problem too. It constantly makes excuses for Islam instead of sticking up for the people it’s supposed to protect.

Wake up, faggots. The political Left is part of the problem.

Intentionally or not I think this encourages and promotes extreme violence as well as extreme religious intolerance, and it uses a tragedy to deliberately inflame.

New Zealand has to be much better than this.

Spanish Bride is Juana Atkins. Inflammatory speech and extreme violence and intolerance are as bad when promoted by women as it is when promoted by men.
